2008 Contest
PrisMissing© #2
Since the August
contest of a PrismaPixels puzzle with missing information was so hugely popular,
we have decided to repeat this type of puzzle every other month! You will
see this month's contest with its clues below.
This puzzle is a twist on a standard multi-colored PrismaPixels puzzle for which you
must figure out where
the clues go before (or while) solving the puzzle. We've started you off with the blank grid along with one set
of Row clues and one set of Column clues placed in their correct locations and
several colored pixels to get you started.
You decide where to put the rest of the clues to complete the picture.
All clues (including the ones already in place) are given below in no particular order.
Once you think you've correctly figured out the picture, send us a description
of your finished puzzle for this month's prize of a copy of our book

September WINNER
Many people sent in answers that were mostly correct, but none got all 30
answers. However, we've decided to award this month's prize to John
O'Shea of Utah! John had all the answers correct except the Rhinoceros
beetle, which he identified as a Stag beetle. After consulting our
favorite bug identification site (BugGuide -
http://bugguide.net/node/view/15740), we agree that the picture could have
been a Stag beetle. John will be receiving a custom-made puzzle of the
name of his choice, which we will post later this month as a sample.

one colored pixel per 5x5 section.
You decide where to put the rest of the clues to complete the picture.
Clues are given below in no particular order.

JULY
2008
Search our website to
find letters and characters that are different than the rest of the letters in the same word.
These "different" letters or characters may be of a different
color, size, or different
in some other WAY. You may need to look very closely to find
all of them. Write down all those letters and characters, and then
rearrange them to form a complete sentence. Send your complete sentence,
along with your full name, age, city, state, country (if not the U.S.), and
postal code to
GameMeister@BigFlyGames.com.
The deadline for entries is July 31st.
A winner will be chosen randomly from among all contestants who come up with the
correct sentence. The selected winner will receive a set of 24 Sargent Art
colored pencils.
If you think you may have found all of the letters but can't seem to make a
complete sentence out of them, send us your list of letters and we'll send back
ONE hint. You may only request a hint once, so be persistent!
Hint #1: Don't worry about this page; it is clue-free!
NO WINNER THIS MONTH
While we had many
contestants request clues, and many had found the exclamation mark to be used as
punctuation, only 2 sent in their final solutions, and neither was exactly
correct. Therefore, the correct sentence: COLORED PIXEL PUZZLES ARE
FUN! was not found by anyone. The two who did enter and came very
close were Nina Dozier of Missouri with COLOR FUN RED PIXEL PUZZLES!
and Javi Rodriquez of California with COLORED PIXEL PUZZLES RULE!
(We're not sure where he found the extra "L".) For great effort, we will
be sending a set of 12 Sargent Art colored pencils to each of these contestants.

JUNE WINNERS
We have decided to name two

daunting, give
Contest #2
a try. Come up with the most interesting, amusing, intelligent, or just
plain fun sentence using all the letters in Big Fly Games Ltd.
The entries were so silly
for this contest that we couldn't decide between three, so the winners are:

Harold Condron from Pennsylvania for SMALL FIGGY DEBT
Anita Haynes from Georgia for GLIBLY DAFT GEM
